CONvergence was AWESOME!

This year's convention was a great time. Thanks to everyone who helped. The crew stepped up and we had enough hands to help with loading the truck, unloading the truck, setting up the rooms, working the rooms, tearing down, loading the truck, unloading the truck and loading up the cargo bay. That even sounds exhausting, doesn't it?

Our two-room set-up was very well received. It was fun to watch as con-goers who have not seen the two rooms came in a were amazed. We had a steady stream of visitors from the moment we opened each night until the moment we closed. So many, in fact, that we served a record-setting numbers of drinks and food. The replicator actually tapped out its matter-energy matrix and shut down at the end of the last night - great timing! Rumor has it that the real story is different and the tribbles won at last, but we'll never be truly certain. We served almost 2,000 red and gold drinks to our guests, too. That's the most we've served in any year by a big margin.

The atmosphere was great, too. Thanks to our newly improved sound effects, the whole area had an energetic vibe. People loved checking out the bridge console, watching the three-sided monitor for what was coming next, playing three-dimensional chess with Balok, sitting in Captain Kirk's chair and posing in the Transporter. The addition of our Klingon allies also added to the fun, as they sometimes invaded, sometimes welcomed people, and sometimes added to the excitement at the bar. We loved having them and hope they'll play with us again next year.

There were several gratifying comments heard repeatedly. People are continually in awe of our workmanship and (just like us) have dreamed of doing something like this for many years. Many people thanked us for coming back year after year and being a staple of CONvergence, and others brought friends in, saying, "See? I told you it was awesome!" Perhaps it's just me, but the best thing is the enormous number of times we hear that we have the best con room ever, at this or any other convention. That just makes it all worth while!

Thanks to everyone who helped, built and worked. Great job, everybody!
