Greetings, Crew!
We're back to the yearly club calendar, which starts in September each year. This means a few important things:
First, we have a calendar change for this month. We discussed a bowling party for September, but we'll be doing that later. This month we will be virtual and meet via Zoom.
Second, we'll be celebrating our dear friend Jane on October 8th after our in-person meeting. Please plan to attend in person to join in a time of remembrance. We'll share a light meal and memories, and we hope you will bring your personal stories to share. Everyone will have a chance to say a few words, and we would also like pictures if you have them. Send them to for inclusion in our boards. Spread the word as widely as you can - Jane had a great many friends in and outside of the fan community. More information will be shared in the next few weeks.
Third, we need the help of every member to ensure the success of our yearly Chuckwagon Social. We'll discuss this at the meeting on Saturday and post it in upcoming newsletters. The event is on October 16th. We need auction items, and most of all attendees. You have the opportunity now to help us fill the room - please plan to attend and bring your friends. We have held the price steady for many years, and this year will increase by one dollar per ticket to compensate for rising prices. It's still only $13 per person for the wonderful chili dinner and auction.
Finally, remember that you'll hear all about our upcoming year's events at the meeting on Saturday. Of course, we have meetings each month. Our Star Trek and science fiction appetites are fed by conventions, watch parties, TC Trek Trivia, and more. We also have philanthropic events, including the NLC Gala, Feed My Starving Children, Red Cross blood drives and other opportunities to help our community. There are multiple fun outings, like the Journey to Babble, a planned visit to Alliance Field to see the Loons, and visits to local landmarks. What would you like us to do?
