The first new Star Trek movie in 9 years (since Star Trek: Beyond) is premiering on January 24th. There's little information beyond the date of premiere and some marketing trailers. It's not the Star Trek we're used to; it's pulling on a plot thread that started in DS9 and continues through Enterprise to Discovery. Now it's about to be canon (and by the looks of the trailer, cannon).
Lynne and I are hosting a casual night to watch this spectacle. Since we don't know if the show will stream at midnight or later that day we'll start showing it at 7:00 or so. We'll open our doors at 6:15-6:30 so we have a chance to get home and get set up. We'll supply some sandwiches and pizza, and typical non-alcoholic beverages - iced tea, lemonade, soda, and for those who partake - gasp - water. You're welcome to bring your favorite, and we've never shied away from sharing.
