Captain’s Log – July 2015

Greetings, crew!

I hope you're all enjoying the lovely summer we've seen so far. A little rain here and there never hurt anyone, and has given us a green landscape that I am enjoying! We have several fun activities set up for the summer, so don't miss out. Check your newsletter and also check back on the website for updates and changes.

We had a very nice time at Kline's for the anniversary picnic. Good food, good friends and a beautiful day all contributed to a good event. Thanks to Pam and Jim for hosting! Our next picnic in on July 19th (more information in the newsletters and on the website) and is for all ships, so make sure you are inviting your friends from the other groups around town. We hope to see you there.

Before that, though, was CONvergence. We had a Horta Cave this year (along with the transporter, the bridge station and the bar) and we welcomed everyone to come and populate it. We also had a blood drive on Saturday.

During the summer, please think about activities and events for next year's calendar. We will discuss all suggestions and form the calendar at the September governing board meeting, so get your ideas to the Board before then. We often hear from people who would like to see a particular event or charitable activity, but who haven't submitted it. It is easy to submit an idea - just send an email to a board member - and then you're sure that it will be considered. This is your club, so help us to come up with fun ideas. Here's one teaser - the January Dance is unlikely to take place this year at its normal location and we need a new one. Any ideas?

See you around the galaxy!

Mary
