Pampered Chef Charity Fundraiser until May 31st!!

Here's your chance to do good while getting cool stuff! Please shop using the link below to pick up some great Pampered Chef items for our fundraiser. Pampered Chef is doubling the amount we can raise for our chosen charity - Feed My Starving Children - for all orders placed in May!

This is a great time to pick up some of the new food items, too. We tried the pizza crust mix and it was great, and I have heard the same about the pretzel mix and many of the spices so this time I'm ordering new ones to try. Of course, there are the tried and true products that you can buy ahead for gift-giving, like the Mini Mix 'N Scraper or the Twixit Clip sets.

Click the link to our special fundraiser party to order by the 31st! Thanks for helping us to support Feed My Starving Children!

Captain’s Log, May 2022

Greetings, Crew!

I hope everyone is finally enjoying warm weather. We had to turn on the AC yesterday, so it must be warm. It will be a great day on Saturday for the Journey to Babble. Scott has a great outing planned - details below. I'll miss it, but I'll toast y'all from home!

We have quite a few updates to share at this week's General Membership Meeting on Saturday. We'll go over upcoming dates and plans, plus details of our June Anniversary Picnic on the 11th. The noon meeting is at Oxboro Library at 8801 Portland Avenue South in Bloomington. If you can't attend, there's a Zoom link in the newsletter, too.

Take care everyone, and see you around the Galaxy!

Journey to Babble for 2022

The long-delayed Journey to Babble will take us to the following locations:

  1. Ineffable Brewing
    1905 CR-42E, Unit 100, Burnsville
  2. Bricksworth Beer Co
    12257B Nicollet Ave S, Burnsville
  3. Bald Man Brewing
2020 Silver Bell Rd #25, Eagan

Both Ineffable and Bricksworth have kitchens, so you can get some food to help slow the babbling.

A couple of things to note:

  • The timing of our arrivals will be rather loose, and based entirely on when the meeting ends and when we feel like moving on to the next stop. So if you’re hoping to catch up with us later, you’ll want to call or text a friend to find out where we’re at.
  • We do not have reservations at any of the locations, as they’re all first-come first served. Don’t expect to get one big table, we’ll likely have to spread out a bit.
  • No table service, it’s all handled at the counters. Feel free to belly up to the bar and order at your convenience!

Captain’s Log, Supplemental: May The 4th Be With You!

Happy Star Wars Day, Crew!

I hope you have a great day, preparing for the Revenge of the Fifth, or Cinco De Mayo, or more importantly the premier of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds tomorrow.

Heads up - we're going to do another online Pampered Chef fundraiser later in May. Our club gets double the normal profit from the sale, so it's a win-win for everybody. If you have need of something or gifts to buy, keep your eyes open for information on Facebook and in the newsletter.

We have LOTS of room for the viewing tomorrow night at the Twin Cities 400 Tavern. The room holds 52 and at the moment we have about 20, so if you're on the fence we'd love to see you! We'll start at 6:30 and viewing will begin about 7:30. There may be prizes...or trivia...or something....

In the immortal words of Gandalf, may the 4th be ever in your favor! See you around the Galaxy.

Great news, Crew!

We have secured a location for our Star Trek: Strange New Worlds viewing party on May 5th. You are invited to join us at 6:30pm and we anticipate starting the show at 7:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend, and you MUST let me know if you're coming so we can get a count for the restaurant. Please contact me at , my personal email, or by text.

The location is the Twin Cities 400 Tavern in the Marriott Delta Hotel (Industrial Boulevard and 35W). We'll be in their meeting room and ordering off of the regular menu. Check out the menu and location HERE.

See you around the Galaxy!

Greetings, Crew!

Hello from sunny North Carolina!! It's back to work travel for me, after two years.

We're looking forward to seeing you at our upcoming events. We've got the in-person meeting at Oxboro Library in Bloomington on May 14th, plus the Journey to Babble tour later that day. Scott has some fun stops planned for all to enjoy.

Of course, noting beats the fact that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is in 15 days!! Watch your newsletter for information about a viewing location - it's still in the works.

See you around the Galaxy!

Greetings, Crew!

We had a great time at our first in-person meeting in over two years! It was so fun to see faces that we haven't seen in ages. The C.A.T. Show was fun, too. We saw beautiful paintings and photography, decorated cakes, 3D-printed creations, cigar box guitars, and even a one-string Canjo. I am always impressed at the variety of things our members do for fun. Of course, the day couldn't be complete without a meal at the nearby El Loro!

Here's a calendar update - the escape room outing has been postponed due to lack of interest in our April 23rd date.

There are just 22 days left until the premier of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. We are working on a site for a group viewing party, so save the date and stay tuned.

See you around the galaxy!

Captain’s Log, April 2022

Greetings, Crew!

Here it is - the news you've all been waiting for!! Our membership meeting this weekend in going to be IN PERSON! Yes, it's true, and it will be at the Brooklyn Park Library at 8500 West Broadway. Be there, or be square. If you're square, you can still tune in by Zoom. Find the link below. This will be a fun experiment, as we will see how the camera and sound function in a normal meeting. It worked fairly well at the picnic last year, so we hope it will be even better indoors.

When you come to the meeting, plan to bring your Craft, Art or Talent for the C.A.T. show. Last year we saw baked goods, needlework, jewelry, fun activities, and so much more! Anything is welcome, no matter how big or small. If you are at home, we'll see your item(s) on camera. The sharing will happen right after the meeting.

What will not happen right after the meeting is a bake sale. We talked about having one, but several of the major participants (whose yummy items we look forward to every time) will not be at the meeting so we'll wait to do it on another date.

We are sooooo excited to see you in person!! I'll bet it's safe to say that we'll go out to eat afterwards as a group, too.

In case you missed the big announcement for First Contact Day, check out this trailer for Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard. Seriously, it'll give you the shivers.

See you around the Galaxy! PS - only 29 days left!!!
